Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 22, 2026
Khatam ("we", "our", or "the App") is a Quran recitation companion app focused on helping users build a consistent, measurable, and meaningful Quran reading journey.
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Khatam collects, how it is used, and how it is stored.
1. Information We Collect
Khatam is designed to work without requiring you to create an account or provide personal information.
We do not require or collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Password
- Account credentials
- Location data
- Contacts
- Photos or media
- Payment information
Reading Progress
Khatam stores information related to your Quran reading progress, such as your reading position, completed reading activity, or other progress-related settings.
This information is stored locally on your device and is not associated with an online account.
We do not upload your reading progress to our servers.
2. Local Storage
Khatam uses local storage on your device to remember information needed to provide the app's core functionality.
This may include:
- Quran reading progress
- Reading preferences
- App settings
- Reminder preferences
Because this information is stored locally, deleting the app or clearing its application data may permanently remove this information.
3. Reminders and Notifications
Khatam may allow you to set reminders to help you maintain a consistent Quran reading routine.
If you enable reminders, the App may schedule notifications on your device. These reminders are primarily handled by the device's notification system. Khatam does not need to collect your personal information to provide reading reminders.
You can disable reminders at any time through the App or your device's notification settings.
4. Quran Content
Khatam provides Quran-related content for the purpose of reading and recitation. Your interaction with the Quran content, including your reading progress, is used only to provide and improve the reading experience within the App.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Since Khatam does not require an account and reading progress is stored locally on your device, we do not maintain a central database containing your personal reading history.
6. Third-Party Services
Khatam may use third-party services in the future to support certain technical functions, such as analytics, crash reporting, hosting, or app infrastructure.
If we introduce a third-party service that collects personal or device-related information, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain what information is collected and how it is used.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App. Because your reading progress and preferences are stored locally on your device, the security of this information also depends on the security of your device and operating system.
We recommend keeping your device protected with an appropriate passcode or other security mechanism.
8. Children's Privacy
Khatam is intended to be suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or require children to create an account to use the App.
9. Your Choices
You can control the information stored by Khatam through the App and your device.
You can:
- Disable reading reminders.
- Change your reading preferences.
- Delete the App and its locally stored data.
Because Khatam does not use user accounts, there is no online account or profile that needs to be deleted.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Khatam, our services, or applicable requirements.
When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
We encourage you to review this page periodically.
